question 7: looking back at your preliminary task, what do you think you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

looking at my college magazine to my final music magazine front cover there are major differences and improvements. for example i had learnt how to use photo shop better, by using the polygon lasso tool instead of the magic wand tool. ect. from my research i have learnt the different conventions of music magazines. (plugs, bold short mastheads, etc) my preliminary task is a very boring front cover, this would not sell in a shop, where as my final product would because it looks like the real thing.

my final product has been taken under profession lightning, where as my preliminary task was taken in college, this shows that my preliminary task was rushed and not enough effort was put into it, where as my final product was planned where/when/what.

more feature stories were added to my final task to make it look more professional and to link in with the indie theme. i made sure they linked in with the indie theme by researching other indie magazines such as NME and Q magazine to influence my product.

question 6: what have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product ?

question 5:how did you attract/adress your audience?

question 4: who would be the audience for your media product?

my audience media pack.

what kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

GREY is one of the top indie fashion and art magazines. Grey stays true to its name, with obscure photographs that give a slightly vintage, slightly grungy vibe while making it look cool. Along with covering fashion, they feature art and accept poetry and fiction submissions. Editor-in-Chief Valentina Ilardi Martin’s personal style translates into the ominously beautiful images. i think GREY would distribute my product because they have indie fashion, words, beauty and fragrance, art,  and travel. so they don't have an indie music magazine, so if they produce mine they wouldn't be distributing a rival. They are also global so many of my magazine would get sold.

question one: in what ways does your media product spread use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

in this video my friend has my pictures on my phone  of my final products and is giving me feedback.

RETAKE OF PHOTOS

medium close up, this is very conventional of a music front cover magazine, however this image isn't a clear enough image, there is too much dark lighting on him, hence why i haven't used this image.
this is a close up shot, i used this pose because it was more effective then just looking at the camera.
this is a medium close up, conventionally used on a front cover, the pointing of the finger gives a effect that he is pointing to the reader, connecting with them.
this is a medium close up i had to choose between this one and the  image underneath to use for my front cover main image, however i chose the one underneath because it was more effective (pointing)

this shot is the image i used for my front cover, i chose this pose because it was effective the way he is stood and the look on his face. his outfit is  very cliche "indie" relating to my genre of my magazine.
this is more of a fashion magazine pose, so i didn't use this one.
this is a close up shot, i used this to very the different type of shots.
this is a medium close up, i used this pose to emphasise his indie jacket/costume.
this shot was too much as a fashion magazine shot, hence why i didn't use this. this shows off the costume very well.
the lighting worked well, i used spotlight over his head, against a white wall.

i used this as my main image on my double page spread because it is a close up, which is conventional of a double page spread, the hoodie is also indie. the pose is very effective a swell by the way he is opened up his hood.
