i applied different coloured backgrounds until i chose the right one
the blue was to bright for a music magazine, it would catch a readers eye but it would also put them off because it would hurt their eyes
i liked these pictures because of the lighting and position, however my model wasn't looking at the camera because i wanted to do a different rage of shots. i used a image of my model looking directly at the camera so he its looking straight at the reader/audience. i went with the guitar picture because it was something different and individual, reinforcing the indie theme of the magazine.
couldn't use these pictures because of the dark lighting so i changed position.
i used this idea from an NME cover because i thought it was very effective, i would photoshop an album into his hands however all original images have to be used so i would have to design and make my own album.
i also used a range of long shots, instead of all medium close ups.

i used an acoustic guitar because indie music is acoustic based. i also was influenced by this NME indie magazine front cover.
